NABERS Energy for Data Centres
Invitation to participate in the data collection exercise for the development of a new NABERS Energy rating tool for Data Centres.
The NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW) in collaboration with the Australian Government's Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (DCCEE) is developing a new energy efficiency rating tool for data centres, which will be the first of its kind in the world. The methodology is based on the existing NABERS Energy rating tools for office buildings, shopping centres and hotels.
We invite data centre owners, operators and tenants to participate in an important part of the tool's development. The energy efficiency data collected in this exercise will be used to set the benchmarks for the NABERS Energy for Data Centres rating tool.
This is an opportunity to ensure that your data centre is included in the NABERS Energy benchmarks. Everyone who contributes to the development of NABERS Energy for Data Centres will be publicly acknowledged.
We are requesting only technical information on data centre operations, and do not require the identification of any business or commercial data stored or processed. It is anticipated that most of this information will be readily available from internal IT monitoring, management and reporting systems. All the data collected will be kept confidential.
